On 31 July 2020, a Communication on workers` representation rights was published to the relevant staff in relation to the 2020 proposal for a Nurses Agreement (Ministry of Education and Training). The communication is a formal requirement under the Fair Work Act 2009 and sets out the right of workers to be represented by a negotiator in relation to the proposed agreement. Agreements are negotiated more regularly (usually every 2 or 3 years) between unions and employers and registered by the Western Australian Industrial Relations Board (WAIRC).
