Settlement Agreements Whistleblowing

In addition to this clearer wording, any whistleblowing settlement agreement will contain a clear statement that nothing in the agreement can prevent the person from exaggerating the concerns and a certificate from independent legal counsel explaining the requirements and restrictions of the confidentiality clause. Given that these agreements are often made when an employee is blamed for doing just that, do I have to ask myself what the point of this is? (Another rhetorical question). An employee in such a position should never accept such a clause if it makes payment subject to the accuracy of the warranty. Nevertheless, I regularly see the clause appear, which I think is worded thoughtlessly, and I regularly see that employees accept the clause if they should not.
