Areas Of Agreement And Disagreement With Father

A meta-analysis [5] by Achenbach et al. (1987) reported relatively weak correlations (Pearson product pair) between parents` and teachers` assessments of children`s behavioural and emotional problems (0.28), but higher correlations between parents` opinions (0.60). The meta-analysis calculated the mean intermediate correlation for 119 studies that reported the inter-rate concordance of children`s behavioural and emotional problems (aged 1.5 to 19 years). The average correlations between different types of informants (e.g.B. parents and teachers) reported by Achenbach et al. (1987) were restored in a subsequent meta-analysis by De Los Reyes et al. (2015) [18]. This more recent meta-analysis included 341 studies published between 1989 and 2014, which reported estimates of correlation between different informant reports on children`s mental health (with or under 18 years of age). It is therefore known that the correlations between parental and teacher reports on children`s behavioural and emotional problems are modest, and the results of community studies have shown that parents and teachers often disagree in their assessments of children`s psychosocial problems [19-21]. However, the inter-advisor correlations between parents and teachers for the SDQ are higher than the average values reported for similar questionnaires [10, 11, 22]. One review [11] reported inter-rater correlations between 0.26 and 0.47 for the SDQ, with all subscale correlations except the prosocial scale being higher than those of Achenbach et al.

[5] [5] reported a metaanalytic mean (r = 0.27) and the best correlation was found for the hyperactivity scale. Family factors included family structure, negative life events and the family environment. The classification of family structure included: (1) intact family (living with both biological parents) and (2) non-intact family (living with lone parents, step-parents or adoptive parents) [35]. Negative life events included the “yes” response to one of the following events that occurred last year in the participants` families: severe medical problems of participants, suicidal/violent/criminal behavior of family members, deaths of large family members, poor housing conditions, financial problems, death in the nuclear family, theft, accident/disaster or separation from one`s parents. . . .
